Spirochetal diseases of the nervous system.

Abstract

Neurosyphilis and neuroborreliosis are currently the most important spirochetal diseases that can affect the human nervous system. This review presents current concepts of the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, laboratory diagnosis, and management of these disorders, and it provides special emphasis on the management of patients with both HIV infection and neurosyphilis.
