Abstract
Successful repair of a distal aortic arch aneurysm without aortic cross-clamping was carried out in a 74-year-old man, using a combination of special separate cerebral perfusion and retrograde coronary perfusion, termed non-clamping selective cerebral perfusion. We believe that satisfactory results following aortic arch surgery in elderly patients can only be achieved through the prevention of emboli derived from an aortic cross-clamping site, and shortened ischemic time of the vital organs.Entities:
