Abstract
Information from yeast and mammalian pre-mRNA splicing systems has advanced our understanding of the roles of protein factors in the early steps of spliceosome assembly. New results on the stereochemistry of nuclear pre-mRNA splicing and data on the transposition of Group II self-splicing introns in vivo have fuelled the long-running debate on the evolution of introns and RNA splicing.Entities:
