Abstract
We describe three adult patients who had cystic fibrosis and acute abdominal symptoms. In each case there were difficulties in diagnosis and treatment owing to the unfamiliarity of general surgeons with this disease. Successful management will depend on awareness of the entity of acute distal intestinal obstruction which may occur de novo in adult patients with cystic fibrosis.Entities:
