Abstract
Periorbital edema is a rare manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We describe a patient with SLE who developed bilateral periorbital edema during her lupus flares. Conjunctival biopsy confirmed the presence of inflammation. Resolution occurred only after high doses of corticosteroids. The differential diagnosis of periorbital edema and possible etiologies of the edema are briefly discussed.Entities:
