Abstract
A review of the anatomical and clinical literature found that previous descriptions of the scaphoid were not detailed enough to match our present clinical knowledge or the requirements of modern imaging. With this in mind a revised and extended description has been produced following a study of 50 dry cadaver scaphoids.
