Abstract
Bone densitometry has developed considerably during the past several decades. Because the techniques have become more precise than before, osteoporotic patients can now be followed over time, allowing for assessment of disease or response to treatment. Several densitometry techniques have been shown to allow for the assessment of fracture risk. Factors other than density, however, additionally influence fracture risk. The next step will be the evaluation of microstructure and bone quality.Entities:
