Abstract
Conceptual and ethical considerations guiding discussions of quality of life and the elderly are examined. The relationship of quality of life to function and health status is assessed and the conclusion reached that the meaning of quality of life changes over the life span. Finally, the presentation is made of the ethical implications for clinical practice and policy of differences in definition of quality of life.Mesh:
