Abstract
Perceptions of pregnancy risk by class and race were examined in a small sample of adolescent mothers. Findings from in-depth interviews indicated differences by class, but not by race, in the degree to which these adolescents, prior to conception, maintained a "personal fable" about their invulnerability to becoming pregnant through unprotected sexual intercourse.Mesh:
