Endoscopic facelift.

A E Aiache.

Abstract

The author describes a new technique of facelifting based on the principles of skin elevation and retraction associated with endoscopic visualization of the subcutaneous tissues, hemostasis, and endoscopic tightening of the skin with subcutaneous suturing. The process is based on the complete undermining and elevation of the skin that allows its repositioning at a higher and more posterior level associated with subcutaneous suturing and fixation of the skin along with the creation of skin rolls situated in a hidden area in the scalp. The temple and the mastoid areas are the main sites of plication and skin rolls, while the subcutaneous suture is made in the nasolabial area, the temple, and the sternocleidomastoid area.
