Is the message getting across? Effectiveness of health education at informing young people about HIV and AIDS.

1. The knowledge base of young people about Aids is improving, but slowly. 2. Young people gain more of their information about Aids from TV and friends than from parents and health professionals. 3. Young people still do not feel vulnerable to Aids, and fail to see it as a disease affecting heterosexual people. 4. Many misconceptions about Aids remain which need correcting, such as fear of blood donation.
