Failure to comply with hormone replacement may jeopardize pregnancies in functionally agonadal women: a series report.

M V Sauer1, P diDonato, V F Nola, R J Paulson.

Abstract

In conclusion, these three functionally agonadal patients illustrate that discontinuing hormone support may have disastrous effects upon early pregnancy. Patients should be educated as to the importance of utilizing medications correctly. In cases where compliance is an issue, embryo transfer should be delayed. If compliance is questioned, a serum progesterone or estradiol measurement should confirm clinical suspicions.
