Abstract
A Saccharomyces cerevisiae gene (HTN1) that encodes a homologue of mouse Ran binding protein 1 (RanBP1, also known as HTF9A) was identified, cloned and sequenced. The two proteins are 51% identical in sequence. The HTN1 protein may interact with yeast GSP1, GSP2, and PRP20 proteins in an intracellular signalling pathway equivalent to the mammalian RanBP1-Ran/TC4-RCC1 pathway. RanBP1 homologues also exist in worms and rice.Entities:
