Abstract
The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was applied for the detection of human papilloma virus (HPV) infection, in samples obtained from the uterine cervices of 202 asymptomatic women with normal cytology in Northern Greece. About 41.8% of the women with microscopically and cytologically normal cervices were found to be infected with HPV. Typing of HPV revealed that 6.9% and 1.5% of the women were infected with HPV16 and HPV18, respectively.Entities:
