Disseminated nocardiosis in a patient with Cushing's syndrome.

M Boscaro1, F Fallo, N Sonino.

Abstract

Nocardia Asteroides infection may occur in corticosteroid treated patients. However, nocardiosis in the presence of endogenous Cushing's syndrome has been previously reported in rare cases. We report a patient with Cushing's syndrome from bilateral nodular adrenal hyperplasia, in whom a disseminated form of nocardiosis complicated his hypercortisolism.
