Abstract
Tracheal rupture from within is uncommon and always iatrogenic. We report a case of a tracheal rupture following the use of a Sengstaken-Blakemore tube to control a gastroesophageal hemorrhage. Emergency surgical repair was required. Although complications associated with balloon tamponade are well-documented, no major tracheal injury has ever been reported.Entities:
