Abstract
Identification of women at risk for consuming alcohol during pregnancy is critical to the design of interventions for reducing the adverse effects of alcohol on both women and their children. This report uses data from the 1988 National Maternal and Infant Health Survey (NMIHS)--the most recent vital records survey for which a population-based sample of this size was available--conducted by CDC's National Center for Health Statistics to analyze characteristics of women who drink alcohol during pregnancy.Entities:
