Abstract
Groups of 30 postepisiotomy patients were administered single oral doses of fenoprofen calcium (0, 200, 400, or 600 mg acid equivalent) and/or propoxyphene napsylate (0, 50, 100, or 150 mg). The complete block design permits analysis of variance with determination of orthogonal medication contrasts. Evaluation of the analgesia scores indicates that both drugs were effective. In comparison with the appropriate placebo control, propoxyphene is associated with an increase in elicited adverse reports and fenoprofen is associated with a decrease in adverse reports. The two drugs are additive when given together.Entities:
