[Investigation of the dalcon shield by scanning and transmission electronmicroscopy and bacteriologic studies (author's transl)].

Abstract

Bacteriologic studies and ultrastructural examination (scanning and transmission electron microscopy) was performed on twenty eight Dalcon Shields and the corresponding uteri. Microbiologic organism were detected in various degree. The results were compared with clinical results especially in regard to septicaemia in patients carrying the device.
