Abstract
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is an uncommon disease of unknown aetiology, whose distinctive features are eosinophilia in peripheral blood and eosinophilic infiltration of the bowel wall. Its clinical course shows recurrent crises, even after a period of years, of symptoms that underline the predominant involvement of mucosal, muscular or subserosal layers of the bowel wall. The prognosis of the disease is essentially benign and pharmacologic therapy is not always necessary. A case with predominant involvement of both muscular and mucosal layers is described.Entities:
