Abstract
A 45-year-old male underwent a trabeculectomy with mitomycin C for a secondary glaucoma after complicated cataract surgery. Because of early bleb failure a needling procedure with subconjunctival injection of mitomycin C was performed. Five days postoperatively the patient developed an occlusion of both the arterial and venous retinal vasculature. A relation between the diffusion of mitomycin C into the vitreous cavity and the development of retinal toxicity is suggested.Entities:
