Abstract
For surgical excision of hemorrhoids, the Whitehead procedure is considered a poor technique responsible for anal stenosis, anal incontinence, prolapse, and mucous ectropion. However, with the modifications suggested by André Toupet, these complications do not occur. The Whitehead procedure as modified by A. Toupet requires considerable experience in anorectal surgery. Indications include total hemorrhoid prolapse, in particular with thrombosis, and mucous prolapse.Entities:
