Abstract
The role of immunocytochemistry in the routine diagnosis of malignant melanoma is reviewed, with particular emphasis on the potential technical and pathological interpretive problems that may occur. Careful evaluation of the appropriate panel of markers is discussed, along with details of cross-reactivity of markers with tumours of non-melanocytic derivation. Future developments in immunocytochemistry within the field of proliferation indices assessments are highlighted.Entities:
