[Esters of naproxen as potential prodrugs for skin penetration. 2. Penetration behavior in excised mice skin].

H Weber1, K Meyer-Trümpener, B C Lippold.

Abstract

Penetration of various Naproxen esters was studied in an in vitro model using excised skin of nude mice. Maximal fluxes and permeability coefficients were determined and correlated with physicochemical properties of the substances. The solubilities in octanol and water are of special importance. A model for predicting penetration behaviour was discussed.
