Abstract
Recent research on the detection of the schistosome circulating antigens, circulating anodic antigen (CAA) and circulating cathodic antigen (CCA), has greatly expanded the scope of applications. In the present paper aspects of assay development, in particular of highly sensitive assays and of field-applicable assays, are discussed. The progress in the use of CAA- and CCA-detection for diagnosis, follow-up of chemotherapy and sero-epidemiological studies is evaluated.Entities:
