Abstract
We have cloned and characterized several cDNAs coding for G-protein inhibitory alpha subunits (G alpha i) from a chick brain cDNA library. Based on homology to G alpha subunits from other eukaryotes, these clones were designated chick G alpha i1 and G alpha i2. On the deduced amino-acid level, G alpha i1 and G alpha i2 were found to be 98 and 95% identical to rat G alpha i1 and G alpha i2, respectively. Using RNase protection analysis, the G alpha i1 and G alpha i2 mRNAs were found to be expressed in chick atria, ventricle, lung, liver, brain and kidney.Entities:
