Colonoscope incarceration within an inguinal hernia: a cautionary tale.

Abstract

Incarceration of the colonoscope, within an undetected left-sided inguinal hernia, is a rarely reported event. The literature is reviewed, a possible mechanism described, and the technique used to remove the colonoscope outlined.
