Abstract
A case of 3 month-old-boy with Down's syndrome and heart failure due to a localized arteriovenous fistula of the cranial vessels is reported. Clinical diagnosis was made after cranial bruit detection based on a retroauricular thrill incidentally felt by the mother. The diagnosis was confirmed by digital subtraction angiography and a good result was achieved by means of embolization and surgical ligation of the fistula. Three years after the operation the patient is asymptomatic, on no medication and with normal magnetic resonance image of the cranial vessels.Entities:
