A dynamical model of the pulsatile secretion of the hypothalamo-pituitary-thyroid axis.

G Li1, B Liu, Y Liu.

Abstract

We propose a dynamical model for the hypothalamo-pituitary-thyroid axis. This model takes into account both the interactions of hormones in this axis and the binding of thyroid hormones with proteins in plasma and tissues. It can account for the pulsatile character of hormone secretion in this axis as well as many experimental results.
