Abstract
The highly purified lipoprotein of the outer membrane of Escherichia coli forms paracrystals. The ultrastructures of these paracrystals were examined by electron microscopy. The needle-shaped paracrystals show several different band patterns, depending on conditions of paracrystallization. Models are presented to explain possible arrangements of the lipoprotein molecules within the paracrystals.Entities:
