Abstract
A new steroidal saponin named diurnoside 1 has been isolated from a methanolic extract of fresh leaves of Cestrum diurnum and the structure, (25 R)-5 alpha-spirostan-3beta-yl-4-O-[2-O-(beta-D-gluco pyranosyl)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-3-O-[beta-D-xylopyranosyl]-beta-D- glucopyranosyl]-beta-D-galactopyranoside, was determined by modern NMR technique and chemical reactions.Entities:
