Abstract
Chemical protein sequencing remains the cornerstone of protein structural analysis. Recent developments allow an increased rate of sampling and a reduction in background noise. Mass spectrometric detection of chemical sequencing products will, in all likelihood, initiate an era of sequencing of sub-picomole quantities of protein. Significant progress toward routine, automated carboxy-terminal sequencing has been reported recently.Mesh:
