Abstract
The detection of specific nucleic acid sequences plays a major role in modern biology and in medicine it is involved in analyzing basic genome structure and function, identifying mutated oncogenes, infectious or genetic diseases, typing tissues before transplantation, and comparing DNA sequences in forensic situations.
