Abstract
Although there is a growing acknowledgement that individuals with disabilities have the right to individual self-determination, people with mental retardation have been among the last for whom these issues have been addressed, despite calls to do so over the last 20 years. In this article, we examined the importance of self-determination for all people and reported the outcomes of a national survey that provides evidence regarding the self-determination of Americans with mental retardation.Entities:
