Abstract
Direct vision cold knife internal urethrotomy avoids injury to neighboring structures with greater certainty than blind urethrotomy and is possible with all urethral strictures regardless of type or origin. The surgery is also easily performed, usually with local anesthesia, and on an ambulatory basis. The recurrence rate of 12% is relatively low and reoperation is easily performed. An important factor is the postoperative therapy, which requires good patient cooperation.Entities:
