Abstract
The fungitoxic effect of seven volatile substances (ammonia, carbon disulphide, petroleum benzene, carbon dioxide, methanol, glacial acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide) against five fungi, i.e. Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, Absidia corymbifera, Penicillium nigricans and Candida albicans, was determined on the basis of their dry mycelial weight and sporulation or budding activity. These organisms were isolated from patients suffering from fungal infections of the ear. All the volatile substances tested were found to inhibit mycelial growth and sporulation or budding.Entities:
