Abstract
The emergency physician must have an intentional approach to the child suspected of having meningitis. Emerging diagnostic tools and therapies, including the use of corticosteroids, are discussed. In addition, CNS infections that are less commonly seen are reviewed, including tuberculous meningitis and herpes simplex virus encephalitis.Entities:
