Abstract
A gene encoding beta-mannanase from Bacillus subtilis NM-39 was cloned into Escherichia coli DH5 alpha by using pUC 18 and its nucleotide sequence was determined. The beta-mannanase gene was 1080 base pairs long and encoded a mature protein of 336 amino acids and a signal peptide of 24 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence of the cloned mannanase showed sequence homology with mannanase from alkalophilic Bacillus sp. strain AM-001 (about 50%).Entities:
