Choledochoplasty for cholecystocholedochal fistula (Mirizzi syndrome type II): a case report and literature review.

N A Strugnell1, A Sali.

Abstract

The following is a case report of a cholecystocholedochal fistula (Mirizzi syndrome Type II) in a 61 year old woman. The use of a pedicled graft of gall-bladder remnant in the treatment of this condition is presented. If the condition is recognized early, bile duct injury can be prevented and the need for more complex techniques of bile duct repair or bypass may be averted.
