[Iliaco-crural bypass through a borehole in the iliac fossa as extra-anatomic vascular bypass in infected inguinal canal and posterior aspect of the knee].

G Sekanina1, F Lemminger, D Bruecher.

Abstract

In case of inguinal and medio-genual wound infections with menaced vitality of the lower limb, the extraanatomical, iliaco-crural bypass, passing a borehole in the iliac bone, seems to be a practicable procedure to secure perfusion. The distal anastomosis to the anterior tibial artery, as performed by the authors, can also be performed to the other arteries of the lower leg. This article reviews these indications as well as the technique of operation and short-term results.
