Abstract
Two cases of low-grade astrocytoma arising from the pineal gland are described in this report. These rare lesions have only been reported on two previous occasions to arise distinctly from the pineal gland. Histologically, one tumor was consistent with a juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma, while the other was consistent with a fibrillary astrocytoma. The pathological features, clinical implications, and treatment of low-grade astrocytomas in the pineal region are discussed.Entities:
