Haemolytic time course differences between steroid and triterpenoid saponins.

Abstract

The time courses of 27 haemolytic saponins out of 75 synthetic steroid and triterpene glycosides were compared. The haemolytic rates of the steroids were fast while those of the triterpenoids were slow.
