Abstract
Helical (spiral) CT scanning of the musculoskeletal system is a valuable adjunct in patients with complex disease processes where standard radiography may prove to be of limited use. When CT scans are ordered, the use of helical (spiral) acquisition provides specific advantages in terms of ease of performance of the study, potential successful completion of the study, and in quality of the CT data set.
