Abstract
In a screening series of bioactive components in edible and medicinal plants, we found that Calumbae Radix (Colombo root, 1% powdered feed, for 5 d) and its component, columbin (20-40 mg/kg/d, for 5 d, orally), shortened the sleeping time induced by a urethane and alpha-chloralose mixture and prolonged the sleeping time induced by hexobarbital in mice.Entities:
