[Histologic components of benign prostatic hypertrophy (bph) in relation to the androgen-estrogen status (author's transl)].

U Seppelt, K Buhl, M Drews.

Abstract

Histometric microscopic quantifications of stromal and glandular portions of BPH revealed a significant correlation of the amount of the stromal portion to the individual estrogens in the serum and to the estrogen secretion in the urine. The serum androgen level, the so-called androgen/estrogen ratio, and age had no influence.
