Abstract
Repeat examinations in a de novo patient with Wilson disease revealed an expansion of decreased signal intensities in the basal ganglia on T2-weighted imaging after initiation of copper trapping therapy. Since marked clinical improvement was associated with continued urinary copper excretion, iron depositioning in exchange for copper might explain these findings.Entities:
