Sleeve lobectomy.

L P Faber1.

Abstract

Sleeve lobectomy is the alternative procedure to pneumonectomy. It can be an operation of choice for lung cancer, if technically feasible, and is the ideal procedure for low grade pulmonary malignancies and inflammatory bronchial strictures. Precise radiologic bronchoscopic assessment defines the need and probability for sleeve lobectomy. Close adherence to precise technical principles will achieve excellent clinical results with a low morbidity and mortality.
