Perspectives in modern glycohistochemistry.

A Danguy1.

Abstract

Owing to the biologic importance of glycans in many different settings, the author stresses favorable aspects of modern glycohistochemistry, a growing discipline in the field of glycobiology. The influence of the endocrine status on the expression of glycoconjugates in three targets: the mouse submandibular glands, the prostate and the endometrium is considered. The versatility of lectin and neoglycoprotein approaches is emphasized.
