Abstract
Variables associated with survival among 1,522 peritoneal dialysis patients and 16,404 hemodialysis patients who received treatment during 1992 were evaluated. Analysis was performed separately for the treatment types and for the combined patient group. In general, the associates of survival appear similar among patients receiving peritoneal or hemodialysis. Important variables appear related to nutrition, acid-base status (which is related to nutrition), and age.Entities:
