Abstract
The correction of asymmetries of the face is one of the most difficult procedures in reconstructive facial surgery. In a first step the bony structures have to be corrected, and in a second step the soft tissue parts have to be augmented. There are many possible ways of filling volume defects in soft tissue. We describe free fat transplantation and the findings on long-term clinical and sonographic follow-up. The results show that there is resorption of the free fat transplant for up to 1 year. In suitable cases this method can be recommended.Mesh:
